Metaphysical Soundscapes
Marco Anderson

Cat no: FOXY 211

This set of twelve ambient soundscapes was designed for personal reflection, meditation and to aid altered consciousness.

The pieces, apart from ‘Composition 1’ were not directed, rather I set them up using advanced synthesis and let the machines create the sonic snapshots. The only human input was the ‘randomising’ of the synthesiser’s functions, spontaneously, without pre-planning, as it happened. It seemed to me, at the time, that the machines were playing themselves and simply re-acting to their own processes in the studio environment. Therefore there is something rather unspoilt and ‘innocent’ about these pieces which is very endearing and makes them ideal for the seeker after ‘clarity’, ‘focus’ and ’empathic listening’.

METAPHYSICAL SOUNDSCAPES 09.05.16

Recorded against the backdrop of the beautiful modern stain glass window of St Stephens, in the centre of Bristol, and with the natural acoustics of the church, it captures the live performance of both human and machines, improvised in the moment, with no overdubs.
