Mellow moods, smooth swing, familiar ballads, Mood Indigo’s blend of material from the great American Songbook features songs by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Ellington and many more.
Front man Will Grealish is an polished and accomplished entertainer, that rare breed of experienced artist, theatrical actor and purveyor of bonhomie and communication with his audience that makes him so popular. Singing in the great style of Tony Bennett, who Will has met on many occasions, the band’s effortless swing has graced many a concert hall, restaurant, wedding reception, all the way up to representing the UK at the 2009 MIRI International Jazz Festival in Sarawak, Indonesia and again in 2010 in Malaysia.
The musical backing to Will’s showmanship is provided by a trio of very experienced gentlemen; John Lambert, piano, Jim Pimpernell, Bass and Marco Anderson, drums, they can be augmented by Robbie Tabrett, tenor sax or a complete horn section, depending on taste and requirements. At home in the intimacy of a small venue or large concert hall, Mood Indigo have established themselves as the ‘best swing jazz band in the SW UK’ (Brides magazine 2011).
Their debut album ‘God Bless the Child’ met with great success with radio exposure and that was followed up in 2012 with ‘The Smile That Saved the World’.
